Hawthorn will continue to call Launceston its home-away-from-home in season 2022, with the club signing a one-year contract extension with the Tasmanian Government.
The partnership with the Tasmanian Government will see the Hawks play four home matches at UTAS Stadium across the 2022 AFL home and away season.
Hawthorn is now set to mark 22 years in the Apple Isle, having first played in Tasmania in Round 6 2001.
Across that time, Tasmania has become a solid feature across Hawthorn’s fixtures including honouring important occasions such as the Alec Campbell Cup played on ANZAC Day this year.

Hawthorn President Jeff Kennett said he was excited with the announcement and highlighted the importance of the ongoing partnership between the club and the Tasmanian Government.
“This is great news for our fantastic, loyal Tasmanian members who have shown incredible support to the club for over 21 years,” Kennett said.
“We are immensely proud of our long-standing association with Tasmania, and the club is thrilled to continue its presence and strong connection with the state for another year.
“The relationship between Tasmania and Hawthorn has spanned more than two decades and over that time the partnership has come to mean a lot to us.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to play more blockbuster games at UTAS Stadium and look forward to building on our well-established community and school programs across the state.”
