After a disappointing loss in Darwin, the Hawks will be ready to bring the pressure when they host Collingwood this Sunday at the MCG.

The match will carry some extra weight, with Liam Shiels and Luke Breust both playing their 250 milestone games.

Breust and Shiels will become the 16th and 17th players to reach the 250-game milestone for Hawthorn.

The teams will also play for the annual Beyond Blue Cup.

The match seeks to shine a light on mental health, encouraging meaningful and open conversations that aim to support and maintain positive wellbeing, as well as reduce the stigma attached to mental health issues.

The Hawks will be looking to turn around their recent disappointing output, while Collingwood will be hungry to keep their winning streak going to make a move into the top eight.

Hawthorn has won 13 of its last 15 games against Collingwood, the only blemishes being an 18-point loss in 2017 and a 32-point defeat in 2020.

Last time we met

Hawthorn (97) defeated Collingwood (78) - Round 21, 2021

Hawthorn took on Collingwood in Blake Hardwick's 100th game milestone late last year.

The Hawks started strong, with Mitch Lewis kicking the first goal of the match. Despite Collingwood kicking five third-quarter goals, the Hawks lead by 30 points at the final change.

The brown and gold played with poise and confidence, going on to defeat the Pies by 19 points.

Hardwick (28 disposals) led an unheralded defence while the likes of Lachlan Bramble (25), Conor Nash (20) and Dylan Moore (20) had an excellent performance.

Our last game

Gold Coast Suns (121) defeated Hawthorn (54)

The heat was on from the start with Gold Coast scoring the first three goals and leading contested possessions 30-24 in the first quarter.

The lacklustre effort was evident on the score board with the Hawks having their lowest half time score this year.

The Hawks had a late charge in the fourth quarter doubling the amount of inside 50s in the quarter (14-7) but the fight was too little too late, with the Suns defeating the Hawks by 67 points.

Tom Mitchell was strong for the Hawks with 29 touches, while Chad Wingard was the side's only multiple goal scorer. Alongside Mitchell and Wingard, Harry Morrison, James Sicily, Changkuoth Jitah and Will Day were also key players in the match.
