The AFL has confirmed Hawthorn’s pre-season game fixture ahead of the 2023 home and away season.

The Hawks will take on Geelong in a match simulation game on Thursday 23 February in Geelong before heading to Tasmania for their official practice game against Collingwood on Thursday 2 March.

Chief Commercial Officer Ash Klein said the club was looking forward to the two match ups.

“We’re really excited that we’ll be welcoming Collingwood, one of the biggest clubs in the land, into the Hawthorn heartland that is Launceston,” Klein said.

“We expect a great crowd to attend as both clubs get their final tune-up prior to the home and away season commencing.

“We love that in addition to our four home and away games in Tasmania next year, we’re also able to connect with our Tassie members and fans in a pre-season game setting as well.

“Meanwhile, meeting with the reigning premiers in our opening pre-season hit-out will also be a valuable experience for our young side.

“Again, we look forward to seeing as many of our members make the trip down the highway to get their first glance of our 2023 line-up.”

The game against Collingwood will be live on Kayo.
