Hawthorn captain James Sicily has been named in the 22Under22 Team of the Decade.

The 28-year-old joins a blockbuster line-up which includes some of the biggest names across the competition.

Sicily’s career stats include averaging 19.1 disposals, 6.6 marks, 13.6 kicks and 4.46 rebound 50s from 115 games. The star defender also took home Hawthorn's best and fairest award, the Peter Crimmins Medal last year.

Sicily is the sole Hawk to make the final team after fellow teammates Luke Breust, Changkuoth Jiath, James Worpel and Chad Wingard were previously named in the squad.

Players have been placed in the position where they played majority of their football during 2013–2022, according to Champion Data.

The 22under22 Team of the Decade was launched by the AFL Players’ Association to celebrate 10 years of the honorary initiative which seeks to recognise the best young talent in the AFL and AFLW.

To be eligible, players must have been selected in a previous 22Under22 side (2013-2022) with fans charged with the responsibility of creating the ultimate team.

Fans were able to choose from almost 150 players for the team of the decade, all of which have been named in at least one 22under22 side since 2013.
