Hawthorn has made three changes as the club prepares to host North Melbourne at UTAS Stadium on Saturday.

After an interrupted start to the season, Jack Scrimshaw is a confirmed starter for the clash against the Kangaroos in Tasmania, making first senior appearance of the year.

Hawthorn will also be bolstered by the return of Harry Morrison who will play his first game of 2023 after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, young forward Tyler Brockman has been named in the starting 22 and is set to play his first game since Round 23 of 2021 after missing the entirety of last season due to a shoulder injury.

McCartney said the club was pleased to welcome the trio back into the team as the Hawks prepare to travel to Tasmania.

“We are really happy to have Jack back fully fit after having a limited preparation to start the season," McCartney said.

"Jack is a fantastic player, he provides us with some strong drive out of defence, and is someone who we've missed in our side.

"Having Brocky return to the side is also really exciting, he was a stand-out in Box Hill's season opener last week kicking three goals.

"We know he'll provide plenty of energy to our side and we're excited to see what he can do.

"Meanwhile, Harry's running capacity will be a valuable weapon through our midfield rotations.

"His inclusion really bolsters our side, in terms of both the leadership he provides and his ability to play an important role for the team."

James Blanck, Sam Butler, Jacob Koschitzke and Lachlan Bramble are the confirmed outs from the side that fell to Sydney at the SCG last Sunday, although the quartet will make up the side's emergency list for this weekend.

Hawthorn will be searching for its first win of the season when the club takes on an in-form Kangaroos who have won the opening two games of the year.

Saturday's game marks the first time the Hawks have played at UTAS Stadium for the 2023 home and away season.

The game will begin at 1.45pm and will be televised live on Fox Footy and Kayo.
