Hawthorn Football Club in partnership with Pancare Foundation are thrilled to announce the second Dare to Hope Match when the Hawks take on the Blues on Sunday 2 July at the MCG to raise awareness and funds for the Dare to Hope: Paul Dear Pancreatic Cancer Fund. Despite Paul’s untimely passing in July last year, this match will proudly carry on his legacy with a new initiative – the Bay of Hope.
Each year, more than 3,500 Australian families are devastated by the loss of someone special to pancreatic cancer. Despite being a leading cause of cancer deaths, there's simply not enough awareness and research funding for this devastating disease.
To raise the much-needed awareness and funding, the Bay of Hope offers a heart-warming tribute to the 3,500 grandparents, parents, partners, siblings, friends and colleagues lost to pancreatic cancer each year.
How you can get involved in the Bay of Hope:
- Personalise your own: you can pay a special tribute to someone impacted by pancreatic cancer by having them represented in the Bay of Hope by personalising their silhouette with their name and making a donation.
- Make a contribution: if you haven’t personally been impacted, you can support the installation by making a donation to contribute to one of the 3,500 silhouettes required for the Bay of Hope.
Hawthorn, Pancare and the Dear family we want to see a sea of purple at the MCG!
