Hawthorn winger Akec Makur Chuot will play in front of a large contingent of family and friends when Hawthorn travels to Fremantle Community Bank Oval to face the Dockers on Saturday afternoon.
Makur Chuot's football journey began in Perth after coming across to Australia from South Sudan.
The 31-year-old still has family and friends based in Perth but rarely gets to see them since being based in Melbourne for the past six years.
She told media how excited she was to reunite with her loved ones out west on the weekend.
"This (game) is a special one," Makur Chuot said.
"I'm obviously going back home and I get to play in front of my family and friends.
"I moved to Melbourne six years ago so I don't have that luxury of being able to play in front of them often so when I get my chance, it's always nice to get down there.
"I'm looking forward to just really going out and playing our brand of footy, representing the Hawthorn Football Club in front of my family and friends and the Perth supporters.
"There's a lot of Hawks supporters in Perth as well so I'm looking forward to that."
