Hawthorn star Kaitlyn Ashmore has taken out the Round 3 MVP award after leading the way at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.

The 31-year-old recorded 19 disposals, took six marks and laid seven tackles in Hawthorn's 13-point loss against Fremantle.

She also had nine contested possessions and gained 308 metres.

Ashmore has had a brilliant season so far, averaging 18 disposals, 306 metres gained, six contested possessions and 5.7 tackles.

She will aim to back up her performance on Friday night when the Hawks take on Melbourne at Kinetic Stadium, Frankston.
