Last time we met

Hawthorn (7) defeated by Brisbane (61)

This was a tough match for the Hawks in their first AFLW season, coming up against the 2021 premiers and an inaugural AFLW side.

The Lions led from start to finish to take home a 54-point win while the Hawks slumped to 3-6 for the season.

In her last AFLW home game in Victoria, former vice-captain Jess Duffin got on the scoreboard after Brisbane kicked the first four goals of the game.

Duffin's goal came in the second quarter with only one Brisbane goal in response before half-time.

However, the Lions shrugged off that one-goal term to score the final four majors of the game.

Jasmine Fleming was one of Hawthorn's best on the night with 19 disposals, five tackles and three marks.
