The Thornbirds are Hawthorn Football Club’s supporters group for women with a rich history spanning 45 years.
Central to the Thornbirds are their shared passion of the Hawks. They are a welcoming group of women with members from all different backgrounds and ages.
Offering a safe and fun environment for fans, they run various social events and fundraising activities where members come together to meet friends old and new, as well as support several Hawthorn Football Club initiatives.
As a Thornbird you can take part in:
- Monthly coffee in Box Hill
- A Grand Final Week event with player mums
- Player sponsorship of some of Hawthorn's AFL and AFLW players
- Special events with families, inlcuidng Oaks Day and Christmas
- Guest speakers from Hawthorn Football Club (current and past players and staff), community groups and sponsored players
- Inner sanctum access to Hawthorn Football Club
- Support for various charities
Attendance at events is encouraged, plus there’s a monthly newsletter to keep you updated.
The Thornbirds has been supporting and contributing to Hawthorn Football Club for more than 45 years and are always welcoming new members.
