Hawthorn youngster Denver Grainger-Barras has made some positive strides forward with his recovery following a toe injury he sustained in February.
Hawthorn High Performance Manager Peter Burge said Grainger-Barras resumed running again this week, and if things remained on track, he would now be aiming for a Round 10 return to play.
"The last week he started running on the Alter-G treadmill... he's doing some form of running which is good, albeit not his 100 per cent full body weight," Burge explained.
"We're now going to make that next step to running outside on land, at 100 per cent body weight and that will happen towards the end of this week, so that's very positive news."
Meanwhile, as reported by the club on Tuesday, Mitch Lewis and Nick Watson will both be unavailable ahead of Sunday's game against Collingwood.
It comes after Lewis reported some discomfort in his hamstring during the third quarter of Monday's clash with Geelong, with scans later revealing a low-grade hamstring injury.
"We expect he'll start running again this Friday, we listed him as 1-2 weeks so we'll see how things go next week to make an assessment for Round 5," Burge added.
Watson on the other hand is expected to face at least a month on the sidelines, after also sustaining an ankle injury late in Monday's game.
"Scans have since revealed its a very low-grade syndesmosis injury," Burge said.
"He doesn't need surgery which is great, so we're managing it conservatively, he's in a moonboot for the next seven days.
"When he gets out of the boot, we'll be able to pin-point (a more exact) timeframe."
