Hawthorn’s 2024 AFLW season preparations will ramp up in August, with a pair of pre-season fixtures confirmed on Friday.
The Hawks will first face Essendon on Saturday 10 August at Caulfield Grammar’s Wheelers Hill campus from 1pm in a Match Simulation Training.
The Match Simulation Training format, including the number of players, game length and number of breaks for the fixture will be agreed upon by the competing teams ahead of the date.
Arrangements and public access for Match Simulation Training will also be communicated closer to the fixture.
A week later, a trip to the SCG awaits with Hawthorn set to go head-to-head with Sydney in an official practice match on Saturday 17 August from 2pm.
This practice match will be streamed on hawthornfc.com.au and is free to attend.
Teams will be announced on hawthornfc.com.au at 5.30pm AEST the day before the match.
Hawthorn’s 2024 season will then kick off on Sunday September 1 at Kinetic Stadium against Carlton.
