Conor Nash has committed to the Hawks on a new long-term deal, locking away his future with Hawthorn for the next five years.

The multi-year extension will ensure the Irishman remains in the famous brown and gold colours until at least the end of the 2029 season.

The 198cm midfielder has emerged in recent seasons to become a vital cog in Hawthorn’s emerging engine room after his selection as an International Category B rookie at the end of 2016.

Following his third place finish in last year’s Peter Crimmins Medal, Nash has played every game in 2024 in another strong season, averaging 19.4 disposals and 5.2 clearances, as well as laying more tackles than any other Hawthorn teammate to date (107).

Hawthorn National Recruiting & List Manager Mark McKenzie commended Nash’s commitment to the Hawks and highlighted his importance in the club’s future.

“We couldn’t be happier for Conor to remain in brown and gold for at least the next five years through this deserved long-term deal,” McKenzie said.

“Having set our sights on Conor as a talented 15-year-old, with the support of his family, he has made some enormous sacrifices moving from Ireland as an 18-year-old kid to pursue an AFL career.

“Building upon his junior success in Gaelic football and rugby, Conor’s character and work ethic have contributed immensely to his development into one of the most combative midfielders in the competition.

“In the past few seasons, Conor has earned universal respect from his teammates for his toughness and physicality around the contest, as well as his willingness to perform selfless shut-down roles for the betterment of the team.

“Having only turned 26 earlier this this week, we absolutely see Conor playing a big part in our future success as a football club.”
