Our last game

Hawthorn (34) defeated Fremantle (25) in Week 6.

Despite losing three players to injury in the first half, Hawthorn secured a gutsy nine-point win over Fremantle in Perth.

The Hawks solidified their top four spot with a fourth consecutive win, grinding out a heavily contested game under duress to end the Dockers’ own four-game win streak.

The Hawks took their chances early, building an 18-point lead in the second quarter. Eliza West (19 disposals and 13 tackles) was outstanding with Emily Bates (19 and nine clearances) influential in the midfield.

First-year Hawks Jess Vukic kicked the sealer deep in the fourth term for her first AFLW goal.

Along with West and Bates, Lucy Wales, Jasmine Fleming, Tilly Lucas-Rodd and Aileen Gilroy rounded out the Hawks best players.

Last time we met

Hawthorn (44) defeated West Coast Eagles (41) in Round 6, 2022.

In a match that went down to the wire, the Hawks claimed a three-point victory over the Eagles in Frankston.

This win marked the Hawks second consecutive win after their maiden win the week prior.

Veteran Jess Duffin managed three goals when deployed in attack when the Hawks had the advantage of the wind and broke the game open in the second term.

Tahlia Fellows, Tilly Lucas-Rodd and Aine McDonagh also all hit the score board with a major each.

Hawthorn spread the load, with Aileen Gilroy (15 disposals), Jasmine Fleming and Lucas-Rodd (14 disposals), while Gilroy (10 tackles) and Tamara Smith (9) applied plenty of pressure across the ground.

Gilroy, Duffin, Fleming and Smith were judged best afield for the clash.
