Hawthorn young gun Jasmine Fleming has been named in the 2024 AFL Players’ Association AFLW 22Under22 team.

The 20-year-old had another stellar season, running rampant through Hawthorn’s midfield.

Across her 11 home-and-away appearances this season, she averaged 19 disposals, five tackles and three clearances per game.

Fleming was not only a key part of the Hawks' midfield but also made her mark on the scoreboard, kicking her first goal at AFLW level in Week 5 and following that up with another three across the home-and-away season.

She finished the regular season ranked first in bounces across the league with a total of 20, as well as fourth for inside 50s with 49.

Fleming’s season and career-best game in terms of disposals came in Week 3 against the Adelaide Crows with 28 for the day.

This marks Fleming’s second 22Under22 selection, having made the team in 2022. She has also been named in the squad in all three of her seasons at AFLW level.

Fellow brown and gold young star Lucy Wales was also named in the initial 44-player squad, but did not make the final team.

The 22Under22 is a fan-voted concept that recognises the league’s best young players under the age of 22 who have made an impact on their club and the competition.

To be eligible for selection, players are required to be aged 22 and under for the duration of the season and to have played a minimum of five games of the home-and-away season.
