The bullocking midfielder played a pivotal role in Hawthorn's 20-point victory over Carlton, collecting a game-high 32 disposals, 20 contested possessions and nine score involvements.
Newcombe also recorded team-highs in tackles (11) and clearances (nine) while also registering five marks and five inside 50s.

The reigning Peter Crimmins Medallist has had a solid start to the 2025 season with averages of 25.3 disposals and 8.3 clearances.
