Speedy young gun Mikayla Williamson has signed a two-year contract extension to see her remain with Hawthorn until at least the end of 2027.

Williamson joined the Hawks at Pick 17 in the 2023 national draft from the Dandenong Stingrays.

Williamson has played 13 games in the brown and gold, featuring in every game since her debut in Week 1 of the 2024 season. She averaged 10.2 disposals, 4.9 contested possessions and 3.5 tackles per game.

Williamson’s debut season was highlighted by her Rising Star nomination in Week 9 against the Demons, where she collected 14 disposals, four tackles, three intercept possessions and two score involvements.

Hawthorn AFLW List Manager Keegan Brooksby said Williamson’s signature adds to an exciting list of players to recommit to the club.

“We’re delighted that Mikayla has shown her commitment to the Hawks for two more years,” Brooksby said.

“Her speed and athleticism are two of her most recognisable qualities, she made a real impact in her debut season, playing every game and we look forward to her continued growth in the brown and gold.”
