Hawthorn ruckman Marc Pittonet has been recognised for an outstanding campaign at VFL level this year, finishing equal fourth in the 2019 J.J. Liston Trophy vote count.

Pittonet polled 14 votes alongside Werribee’s Michael Barlow and Port Melbourne’s Shannen Lange, with Barlow’s teammate Thomas Gribble proving a runaway winner of the esteemed award.

The 202cm Hawk featured in 14 games at VFL level this year, averaging 16.7 touches and 38.3 hit-outs.

His best game came in Round 4 in the side’s 51-point win over Coburg, when he collected 29 disposals, four marks, four tackles, 42 hit-outs and a goal in a clear best afield performance. 

Dynamic midfield duo Andrew Moore and James Cousins were next in line for the Hawks with seven votes each.

Moore averaged 23.7 possessions per game while Cousins went at 25.1 touches through his nine appearances.
