Good news, Hawks fans: exciting young Hawk Mitch Lewis has penned a new multi-year deal with the club.
The contract extension comes off the back of a breakout season for the 21-year-old, who was named Hawthorn’s Most Promising Player at the Peter Crimmins Medal Ceremony earlier this month.
The 198cm forward presented a strong target up forward across his 12 senior appearances in 2019, leading his teammates with an average of 2.3 contested marks and booting just under two goals a game.

GM-Football Graham Wright says the extension is reward for effort, with Lewis’ consistent hard work recognised by the club.
“Mitch has shown fantastic development over the course of the past 12 months,” Wright said.
“He is part of the next generation coming through our ranks - we’re hopeful he’ll hold down a key post in our forward line for some time to come.
“We’re really pleased Mitch has re-committed to the club, and we’re looking forward to seeing what he can produce in 2020.”
Lewis is about to commence his fourth pre-season with the club, having been drafted with Pick 76 in the 2016 National Draft.
He has since notched up 14 games in the brown and gold, including a series of impressive three-goal hauls in 2019 – one of which earned him a Rising Star nomination.
