Bradley Hill has been voted best on ground by the coaches in Hawthorn’s 53-point win over the Gold Coast Suns on Saturday.
Hill gathered 33 disposals and a team-high seven inside 50s to help steer the Hawks to their fifth win of the season, awarded seven votes by Alastair Clarkson and Rodney Eade.
Brian Lake’s performance earned him six votes, with the premiership defender taking a game-high 11 marks and collecting 26 disposals while also blanketing Suns key forward, Charlie Dixon.
Sam Mitchell, Josh Gibson and Isaac Smith were each handed four votes.
Mitchell was prolific through the midfield, amassing 36 disposals, while Gibson gathered 29 disposals and 10 marks.
Six inside fifties and two running bounces from 30 disposals was enough to ensure Smith was also among the votes for Round 9.
Liam Shiels was rewarded for his 14 tackle, one goal performance with three votes, and returning captain Luke Hodge was back to his best with 30 disposals, six clearances and a goal to round out the coaches’ votes with two.
