EITHER Hawthorn great Peter Knights or West Coast champion Dean Kemp will present the premiership cup to the winning team in Saturday's Grand Final.

Since 2004, the AFL has asked a former great of the winning team to make the presentation, and this year it will be either Knights or Kemp.

Knights won three premierships for the Hawks in his 264-game career and was named on a half-back flank in the club's team of the century.

He was also an inaugural inductee to the Hall of Fame in 1996. 

Kemp played in the Eagles' first two premierships in 1992 and 1994, winning the Norm Smith Medal in the latter.

He played 243 games and captained the club in his final season in 2001, before also being inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2007.
