Hawthorn put in a promising performance to kick off its 2019 campaign against Adelaide in Round 1 as a team effort saw the Hawks overcome the Crows by 32 points.
With no injuries to emerge from the game, it would seem unlikely Alastair Clarkson would opt to change his season opener line-up.
Although all eyes will be on recruit Tom Scully who, if deemed available for senior selection, will be a welcome addition to the Hawks midfield.
Meanwhile, many young Hawks also pressed their claims for selection in strong showings for Box Hill on Sunday.
Among those youngsters, Mitch Lewis spearheaded the Hawks offence soundly against the Casey Demons in the grand final rematch.
Development coach Torin Baker described Lewis as the “best big man on the ground for the day”.
“His ability to provide a contest was great and he certainly straightened us up with our entries,” Baker said.
Dylan Moore, who was the carry-over emergency for the senior game, was also a notable player on the day as his speed and ball-use helped to keep the Hawks in the game.
Teia Miles and Daniel Howe also performed well as they look to make a return to the senior team.
