Hawks fans will have the option of a home or away game this Sunday afternoon, with the VFL men playing at Box Hill City Oval at 2pm, and the VFLW women heading out to Melbourne University Main Oval for a 2.30pm start.
Box Hill will host Port Melbourne for the first time since the 2017 qualifying final that saw Chris Newman’s men emerge 13-point victors.
While the Hawks will be without Tim O’Brien and Brendan Whitecross who have been recalled to senior level, they will be buoyed by the return of a listed trio in James Cousins, Conor Glass and Jackson Ross.
Both sides are locked at seven wins apiece, with just percentage separating fifth-placed Box Hill and eighth-placed Port Melbourne.
Meanwhile, the Hawthorn women will take on the Mugars at Melbourne University Main Oval, as the Hawks look to cement their top-two status.
Patrick Hill hasn’t made to many changes to his side that defeated Williamstown last week, with recently listed Hawks Nicki Cormack and Emily McIlvena two of the few possible inclusions after being named on the interchange.
