Star Hawthorn midfielder Tom Mitchell is leading the league in disposals this season.
It is an impressive feat when you consider the quality within the peloton that pursues Mitchell, who is just 23 years old.
But just how historical would it be if the Hawk midfielder was able to take out the mantle of having more disposals than any other player this season?
Well, since disposals began being recorded in 1965, only three other Hawthorn players have been able to achieve the feat.
In 2014, Jordan Lewis paced the league for possessions, gathering 668 in total, at an average of 27.8 per game.
A year later, Sam Mitchell made sure the honour remained at Waverley Park when he picked up 748 touches at a rate of 31.2 a game.
But, a look beyond the now departed duo will take you back to the mid 80s.
In 1982, Terry Wallace gathered 635 possessions, at an average of 28.86, to claim the crown.
A year later, ‘Plough’ upped the ante and went back to back by collecting 765 disposals at an average of 30.6, in a year he also won the club best and fairest and a premiership.

But that is the extent of Hawthorn players to have led the league in a disposal count on a season.
If Mitchell is able to finish the season in pole position, he will still have one more season to go to match the efforts of his father.
While playing for Sydney, Barry Mitchell had two outstanding years in 1988 (616 disposals at an average of 29.33) and 1991 (689, 31.32) when he led the likes of Craig Bradley, Greg Williams and John Platten.
For the past 11 years, the player that has had the most disposals at season's end has gone on to play finals.
Let's hope that trend continues in 2017.
