Hawthorn Coach Alastair Clarkson will this week equal the club's coaching record when he heads the Hawks for the 299th time on Saturday.
The record is currently held by Hawthorn legend John Kennedy Snr, who coached the Hawks in the 1960s and 1970s, as well as one lone game in 1957 as a player coach, when Jack Hale had a car accident on the way to Glenferrie Oval and subsequently missed the Round 11 match.
Since 2005, Clarkson has coached the side to four premierships including the famous three-peat between 2013-2015. He is the most successful coach in the 18 team competition, with only four AFL coaches having won more premierships in the history of the VFL/AFL.
