Box Hill has cemented its position atop the VFL ladder with another dominant performance against Geelong.
Chris Newman review each Hawthorn-listed player's performance.
Kieran Lovell
“He built on his game from last week. This was obviously his second game back, but it looked like he was running the game out a lot better than what he did last week. It’s taken a little bit for him to get back to match fitness standard. He’s had 34 disposals, 16 of which were contested, so pretty good output for him. Nine clearances, nine inside 50s and seven tackles, so that’s the standard he’s set himself. He was really involved in the game. Hopefully he can keep progressing and getting better again from that. But a good game from ‘Lovey’.” CN

Kade Stewart
“It was arguably his best game of the year in terms of his offensive and defensive output on the game. He played forward for the majority of the game so to get that much of the footy and still impact the scoreboard with four goals is more than playing his role. So, it was a great game from ‘Stewy’.” CN
Ollie Hanrahan
“Ollie played on-ball a little bit, mixing his time between there and in the forward line. He didn’t kick a goal this week, but he had one shot that he would usually gobble up. But he had 21 touches and used the ball quite well. He’s creative and lively. He has the ability to use his legs and create from congestion, rather than just kicking it. We love the dynamic he brings to the field, so we will continue to go down that path with him.” CN
Dallas Willsmore
“He had his opportunities to have a really big game, kicking 2.3. But it was pretty tricky conditions, it was really breezy down one end. He played forward with little spurts on ball. But predominantly forward, where we think we can get maximum benefit from his leg. If he can kick a little more accurately as well, we would probably look at his game even more favourably.” CN
Marc Pittonet
“Another terrific game from ‘Pitto’, he’s been in some really good form. He’s had seven tackles again. I know I harp on about it every week, but he has taken his follow-up work to another level this year. He had 38 hit-outs, so he competed really well against (Geelong’s Rhys) Stanley. He kicked the first goal of the game as well, so he really challenged the opposition ruckmen. He also took four contested marks, which is terrific to see as that is what he has been working on. So, it is good to see him continually get reward for effort.” CN
Harry Morrison
“He played a little bit forward but mostly on-ball. Harry played his role quite well. He probably wasn’t as damaging as he has been with the footy, but, having said that, conditions made it quite hard. He had a week off last week, so he’s come back from a little spell and hopefully he continues to get better from that.” CN
Kurt Heatherley
“He took three marks from opposition boot, which was good. He was back to his aggressive best, and that’s probably when he’s playing his best footy, when he has that controlled aggression. He won quite a few critical contests in the defensive end too. He finished the game quite well, with a fair bit of offensive impact as well.” CN
Ty Vickery
“He had five score assists, so he was actively involved in setting others up. He also went into the ruck and had nine hit-outs. He didn’t spend a lot of time in the ruck but he gave ‘Pitto’ enough of a chop out in there. He had three contested marks as well.” CN
Conor Nash
“A few really good defensive acts from Conor was good to see. His ability to come forward and put pressure on the opposition was good. Again, he’s missed a huge block of footy throughout the year. So, he is still learning the game but hopefully he can build on the game.” CN
