As he so often is, Luke Hodge was a shining light for the Hawks in their Round 4 loss against the Cats.
Despite being the target of some Geelong aggression (with Sam Menegola and James Parsons now on report as a result), Hodge kept the Hawks afloat for much of the game with his 35 possessions, five tackles and 546 metres gained.
Although the Hawks now find themselves 0-4 in the early stages of the season, the former captain still believes the turning point is imminent.
“What we’ve seen in football, especially in this day and age, is that it doesn’t take much to turn it around,” said Hodge.
“The players just have to stick together, the coaches have to stick together, [we just have to] continue with what we’re trying to push forward, and things will turn.
“You’ve just got to have faith.”
Hawthorn will now look forward to next Sunday, when they take on the Eagles at the MCG.
