HAWTHORN has made just one change for Saturday’s match against Carlton at Aurora Stadium.
Premiership midfielder Will Langford returns to the side, replacing small forward Paul Puopolo, who will miss with a minor hip injury.
Langford has impressed in the VFL over the past two weeks, collecting 29 disposals a fortnight ago and 22 disposals on the weekend.
He returns for his 11th AFL match this season, the most recent being in Round 12 against Essendon.
“Poppy has got a corked hip, so he’s not quite right with the six-day turnaround,” GM – Football Operations Chris Fagan said.
“His place has been taken by Will Langford, who has been in really strong form in the VFL in the last few weeks and deserves his opportunity.
“No doubt he’ll be looking forward to making the most of it.”
Yet-to-debut trio Dallas Willsmore, Blake Hardwick and Kurt Heatherley have been named as the Hawks’ emergencies.
The Hawks will be chasing their 19th consecutive AFL win in Launceston.
