BEN McEvoy says the Hawks will be looking to bounce back in their third and final NAB Challenge match.

The Hawks fielded a relatively young side in their NAB 2 defeat to the Tigers but will be looking to find some form in their final dress rehearsal against North Melbourne on Saturday night.

“We had some really good learnings (out of last week),” said McEvoy.

“I think we did a lot of things right but we made some basic skill errors and cost ourselves some opportunities.

“We got some good experience into some young guys and had a few first gamers.

“It was good to give them some opportunities but it probably showed a little bit that we were missing some core older guys.”

Whilst the preseason loss isn’t setting off any alarm bells, the ruckman expects the Hawks to bounce back in their final NAB challenge match this weekend.

“We will no doubt have a slightly stronger side in this week,” he said.

“We are all very competitive and we don’t like losing so we will be looking to make amends this week and give ourselves a better platform going into Round 1.

“It’s the final dress rehearsal so we obviously want to get some cohesion and find some form going into a tough match against the Cats.”
