For a number of Hawks, the 2020 season will represent an opportunity to break out and become ingrained senior players.
They have done their apprenticeships over the last few years, toiling away at predominantly VFL level.
Some have had a taste of senior football, the others right on the fringe.
We have compiled a series of candidates who figure to make the 2020 campaign their own.
Ollie Hanrahan
Age: 21
Senior games: 9
Ollie Hanrahan got his chance and didn’t let go in 2019.
The small forward received his first AFL call-up in Round 15 against West Coast and continued in the senior side for the remainder of the season.
His production across the nine-game span was impressive, booting seven goals and missing out on double-digit disposal numbers just once.
The 21-year-old now knows what it takes at AFL level.
