Hawthorn forward Jonathon Patton has given every indication he won't take long to regain form when the season restarts next week.
Patton was a notable performer in the Hawks' final match simulation session ahead of Round 2, with the key forward booting two goals in limited minutes.
The former Giant produced a strong pre-season campaign before making a solid debut in the brown and gold in Round 1 against the Lions.
Hawks fans will be hopeful the 198cm goalkicker can be a force around goals for the side in 2020 and beyond.
Fellow forward Emerson Jeka also turned heads in the Hawks' final preparations, with the first-year player proving a force in the air as he claimed "about eight marks", according to Patton post-match.
The Hawks selected Jeka with Pick 9 in last year's rookie draft and the Western Jets product has since impressed his teammates and coaches with his aerial abilities.
Others who looked potent in front of goal included Paul Puopolo, Mitch Lewis and Tim O'Brien who all finished with a major.
Inside the engine room, young midfielder Harry Jones looked dynamic, matching it with some of his older and more experienced teammates.
The playing group got through the strenuous session relatively unscathed, with youngster Changkuoth Jiath the one injury concern, with the defender set to have scans on his hamstring in the coming days.
We task the new kids with asking each other the hard hitting questions.
