The Hawks have reached the half-way point of its pre-season training camp in Mooloolaba but if the training on day four is any indication, the sessions are about to get tougher as they completed what appeared to be the most physically tough day of the camp so far.

Starting off at Maroochydore Sports Complex, the morning session was an intense one with the boys completing up to three hours of solid running and skills drills.

Over the course of the three hours, the players completed full ground work, inside 50 stoppages and a mixture of drills that focused on ball movement.

When it was time to put the footballs away and swap the footy boots for runners, things really heated up. Split into three groups, the players ran sets of 200m, 500m and 1k runs as they were pushed to their limits by completing two sets of each distance.

But it didn't end there.

Once they had completed two sets of each distance, there was more training, this time having to run and move in a zigzag formation to work on their agility.

Hear Sam Mitchell speak about the day's training.

Upon the competition of the session, the players enjoyed some lunch before hitting the Maroochydore Goodlife gym for an upper body strength session.

By the end of their gym work, which included boxing, push ups and bench press among other things, the players were spent and were using every ounce of their strength.
