Selected with the seventh overall pick in the 2004 National Draft, Lewis has spent his entire career with Hawthorn and under the tutelage of current dual premiership coach, Alastair Clarkson.
When he first arrived at Hawthorn, Lewis, a fresh faced young midfielder was handed the number 40 guernsey before being named Hawthorn's best first year player in 2005.
He upgraded to the number 3 at the end of that year, vactated by defender Jonathan Hay. He is the third Hawk since 1988 to wear the number 3 guernsey for Hawthorn.
Since then, Lewis has become a leader at Hawthorn and a vice-captain of the club and forged a reputation as one of the games toughest and more courageous players and leads by example with his actions.
At 28 years of age, Lewis is a 200 gamer and dual Hawthorn premiership player.
