HAWTHORN will welcome key forward Jarryd Roughead from suspension for Sunday’s clash with GWS at the MCG.
Roughead will boost the potency of the Hawthorn forward line and re-join forward teammates Jack Gunston and Luke Breust, who are all ranked in the top 10 for this year’s Coleman Medal.
Defender Kyle Cheney will also return to bolster the defence after being omitted for the loss to the Power.
The duo have replaced Ben McEvoy, who’s out with injury and young midfielder Will Langford who has been omitted.
McEvoy was subbed out at half time of last Saturday night’s loss to Port Adelaide after suffering the injury in the opening minutes of the game despite trying to play on.
That means the ruck load will be shouldered by veteran David Hale and young ruckman Jonathon Ceglar.
Liam Shiels and Brad Sewell will play their second matches after returning from injury last weekend.
Some would could Langford unlucky to be left out of the side, after impressing in his eight games this year.
He has played tagging roles on some of the game’s elite midfielders, including nullifying the influence of Hamish Hartlett (14 disposals) and Matt White (12) in last week’s loss to the Power.
Langford has also averaged 16.5 disposals and is ranked third at the club for clearances.
