HAWTHORN Captain Luke Hodge will play his first match of the 2013 season against the West Coast Eagles on Sunday afternoon at Patersons Stadium.

After a solid hit-out in the VFL last week Hodge pulled up well enough to be named in the Hawks team flying to Perth on Saturday.

Shane Savage has been omitted, joining Matt Spangher and Jonathan Simpkin as emergencies.
