COREY Enright could return for Geelong in Friday night’s Preliminary Final against Hawthorn despite battling a knee injury.

Enright missed Geelong’s Semi Final win through injury (and suspension) after hurting the medial ligament in his knee in the Qualifying Final loss to Fremantle.

He could make an unlikely return for the cut throat final on Friday night at the MCG, with his knee a day-to-day management issue.

"It's not too bad. I haven't done much yet so it's a bit early to tell, really," Enright said when arriving at Monday night's All Australian awards.

"It's hard to say [whether I'll play]. It's just day-by-day. I've just got to keep doing what I can do each day and see what happens later in the week."

His Captain, Joel Selwood is confident, backing in the reliable running defender to play against the Hawks.

"I know he's working around the clock…I'm confident [he will play]," Selwood said.

Enright is one of Geelong’s key players, with his run and carry out of defence pivotal given the Cats like to set up most of their attacks from half back.

He has had another outstanding season, which was recognised by his naming in the 2013 All Australian team on Monday night.

He has taken the fifth most marks in the AFL this year, averaging 7.2 per game along with22.8 disposals.

He averages 21.3 touches against the Hawks.
