HAWTHORN star Shaun Burgoyne will miss the next two matches after accepting the early plea for rough conduct on Tuesday morning.
Burgoyne was cited by the Match Review Panel on Monday for a bump on Port Adelaide’s Tom Logan during the third quarter of Saturday’s win.
The Hawks utility was slapped with a three-match ban for rough conduct that could be reduced to two weeks with an early plea.
He will miss Saturday’s match against Western Bulldogs and the Round 18 blockbuster against Essendon at Etihad Stadium.
The incident was assessed by the MRP as negligent conduct (one point), high impact (three points) and high contact (two points) drawing a classification of a level three offence and 325 demerit points.
It was a three-match sanction reduced to two games with the early plea, reducing the points by 25 per cent to 243.75.

Midfielder Jordan Lewis is free to play against the Bulldogs on Saturday after accepting a reprimand for striking Power youngster Chad Wingard.
Lewis will have 93.75 carry-over points on his record.
The Hawks midfielder was charged with a level two striking offence and based on the video evidence available and a medical report provided by Port Adelaide, the MRP deemed it was intentional conduct (three points), low impact (one point) and body contact (one point).
Under the points system, the charge was classified as a level two offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction.
The accepted early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record.
