Vale David O’Halloran
All at Hawthorn Football Club send their heartfelt condolences to the family of past-player and Life Member David O’Halloran, who passed away yesterday at the age of 57.
O’Halloran, affectionately known as “Rubber”, played 160 games for Hawthorn FC from 1974-1985 and was a member of the 1976 and 1983 premiership sides.
A Victorian representative, O’Halloran was selected in the VFL’s ‘Team of the Year’ in 1982.
Hawthorn Chief Executive Officer Stuart Fox extended his deepest sympathies to David’s family, friends and former teammates.
“All associated with Hawthorn Football Club would like to offer their condolences to the O’Halloran family,” Fox said.
“David was a popular and much-loved player amongst teammates, Club officials and supporters, and he will be dearly missed.”
“We feel deeply for David’s wife, Karen, his children Tom and Georgie, and all his family and friends who are faced with this sad loss.”
Hawthorn players and officials will wear black armbands in memory of O’Halloran in the Club’s Round 3 match against Collingwood on Sunday.
