Hawthorn Football Club is proud to have recently launched the Tassie Hawks in Schools program, in partnership with the Tasmanian Government and Bupa.

All primary schools across Tasmania will receive a free sports pack, consisting of three footballs and three netballs, under an initiative to encourage Tasmanian school children to have fun while being active.

Minister for Sport and Recreation, Brian Wightman launched 2011 Hawks in Schools program at Invermay Primary School in Launceston’s northern suburbs.

Thanks to the Club's official health partner, Bupa, an eWorkbook has been developed which is accessible to every primary student across the state.

Content has been developed in consultation with the Department of Education, Bupa and Move Well Eat Well and contains fun and engaging activities to encourage healthy eating, along with some great tools to help kids to get active.

The Club is proud to partner this year with the Move Well Eat Well program and encourages all Tasmanian schools to get on board, find out more about Move Well Eat Well.

The Tassie Hawks in Schools program has the ability to reach more than 51,000 Tasmanian primary school students and is a great tool to help teach kids the importance of getting active and making the right health choices.

Over the course of the year, selected Move Well Eat Well primary schools will receive a visit from the Bupa Hawks Express, with students from the University of Launceston delivery a program through the guidance of the eWorkbook.
