Tassie Hawks and The Salvation Army have joined forces to help beat the winter chill, and are asking for the help of all Tassie Hawks members and supporters.

Every year, Hawks members receive a new membership scarf, which means that there are plenty of spare scarves in the back of wardrobes.

The Hawks and The Salvation Army are calling on loyal Tassie Hawks members to get on board and donate those pre-loved scarves.

Tassie Hawks Operations Manager, Shayne Stevenson will be hitting the road and visiting the Tasmanian cities and towns across the State, where members can donate their scarves to The Salvation Army.

Members are encouraged to team up with friends and put their scarves together for one easy donation.

Over 3,000 scarves were donated at Round 12 match the MCG against Brisbane, where The Salvation Army were the nominated match-day charity. The Tassie Hawks hope that Tassie members can be just as generous, and donate their pre-loved scarves to The Salvation Army in Tasmania.

The Salvation Army will distribute scarves through a variety of programs throughout the year in Tasmania.

Each year, The Salvation Army assists more than one million Australians in need. Services and programs are offered across diverse areas such as homelessness, family crisis, emergency relief, addiction and domestic violence.

The ability to assist the most disadvantaged and marginalised members of the community greatly depends on the ongoing support provided to the Salvos by the Australian public.

Donations made to The Salvation Army ensure their centres and programs can continue to operate, allowing them to be responsive to the needs of the people they serve.

Please assist the Salvos by donating loose change to the Tassie Hawks Roadshow, and don’t forget to bring your old scarves to help keep Tasmania’s homeless warm this winter.
