Students from Tasmania’s St Patrick’s College savoured a day in the life of an AFL footballer as part of their prize for winning the NEC Tassie Hawks Cup in September, with the boys receiving the opportunity to train at Hawthorn's headquarters - Waverley Park.
Throughout the day, the grade nine and 10 students from St Pat’s listened in on an impassioned speech from Hawks Coach Alastair Clarkson, had their goal kicking technique analysed by High Performance Coach David Rath and participated in a skills session with Assistant Coach Adam Simpson.
Football Manager Mark Evans and Player Welfare and Development Manager Jason Burt hosted several development sessions for the budding youngsters, while Club Legend Peter Knights put the students through their paces with some Hawks history.
The boys finished off their jam-packed day recapping stories and new memories over a delicious meal.
