Hawka gets physical

Hawthorn Football Club and Hudson ‘Hawka’ Knights were invited by the Active Launceston Program to participate in their free Physical Activity Expo at Launceston’s beautiful City Park.
The 1500 kids who were in attendance had a lot of fun with the Club’s mascot, whilst showing how clever they were in regard to footy. The clinic was excellent fun and the Hawks’ team posters and stickers were a big hit with the kids.
Hawka competed in the celebrity challenge race against the Launceston Mayor Albert Van Zetten and other well known Launceston personalities. Hawka got away to a great start, but he couldn’t sustain his pace until the end and got beaten by a short head.
Hawka showed that he still has some work to do on his handballing skills as he was beaten in some of the handball comps. Our lovable mascot had a great time and he is looking forward to returning to Tasmania for the next game in a couple of weeks against the Lions.
Our thanks go to Lucy Marshall form Active Launceston who invited us to this terrific event.
