HAWTHORN ruckman Max Bailey’s horrible luck with knee injuries has continued after he ruptured the graft of his right knee while playing with the Box Hill reserves on Sunday.
The game was Bailey’s first in 17 months since he first ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in January last year.
Bailey injured his knee at the 20-minute mark of the first quarter after falling awkwardly in a marking contest.
Hawthorn General Manager Football Operations Mark Evans said the injury was a big setback for Bailey and the Hawks.
“It is disappointing for Max to have sustained another knee injury. Max is a person of great character and he has an outstanding attitude and application in everything he does,” Evans said.
“The Club will provide Max with full support as he recovers from this recent setback.”
Bailey will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2008 season.
