Hawks unveil 2020 club award winners

Tom Mitchell had every excuse to have a slower year in 2020, having spent the entirety of the previous season on the sidelines rehabilitating a broken leg.

But, as it panned out, the renowned ball magnet should be proud of his campaign, leading the club for disposals and clearances and deservedly finishing second to Jack Gunston in the Peter Crimmins Medal count.

As the season grew older, he continued to build a strong combination alongside reigning Peter Crimmins Medallist James Worpel and Jaeger O’Meara.

He also captained the side on two occasions between Rounds 16 and 17 when Ben Stratton was out of the side.

Arguably his best game came in the final round of the year, when he amassed 34 possessions, seven marks and five clearances to help the Hawks to a 51-point victory over Gold Coast.
