The VFLW Hawks will welcome four new recruits when they take on Darebin on Saturday at Box Hill City Oval.
Phoebe McWilliams is welcomed back to the brown and gold after playing with Geelong’s AFLW side. She last played for Hawthorn in 2019, and was an important figure in the club's 2018 premiership.
AFLW recruits Mikayla Morrison (Fremantle) and Katelyn Cox (North Melbourne) round out the group of AFLW-experienced players who are joining Hawthorn for the remainder of their season.
Also playing her first game for Hawthorn is Ashanti Bush, an Indigenous player from the Next Generation Academy and who was selected in the 2021 NAB AFLW Academy Squad. Coaches are calling her “highly talented” and look forward to working with her during her relocation from a remote area in the Northern Territory.
Kat Newton is also returning to the side, with Catherine Brown (managed), Kate Dudley, Emily McIlvena, Nicole Cormack, and Sophie Bolding set to miss the Round 10 match.
