Hawthorn has invited Vincent Adduci to join its program through the Pre-Season Supplemental Selection Period (SSP).
Adduci, who has been an integral member of Box Hill since debuting for the club in Round 1 2017, will have full-time involvement in the training schedule from this week.
Clubs can add up to six players to its training list through the SSP during this period, which concludes on March 9. A player must have also nominated for the most recent national draft in order to be eligible.
Although Adduci has been added to the SSP list the club has no necessary obligation or commitment to add the Box Hill product to its rookie list at any point.
All clubs still have the opportunity to invite additional players into full-time programs until the March 9 deadline.
Throughout the 2021 pre-season, Lachlan Bramble, Jackson Callow and Will Bravo trained with the Hawks.
On the back of his impressive summer showing, Bramble was signed via the SSP system in March, while Callow was selected in the mid-season draft in June.
The opportunity for Hawthorn to bring Box Hill players into its program not only provides great education and experience for those young men but also, more broadly, strengthens the alliance between the two clubs.
Hawthorn currently has one vacant rookie list spot heading into the 2022 season, with the option to fill that place by taking a player in the Pre-Season Supplemental Selection Period or alternatively leaving it open for mid-season draft later this year.
