Season summary:

Frost continued his dominance as one of Hawthorn’s most important defenders in season 2022, averaging 13.2 disposals and 4.6 marks per game.

The 29-year-old showed flashes of his trademark dash from defence, with his average of 5.7 handballs per game graded “elite” for his position.

Following a consistent stretch of strong footy, Frost signed a two-year contract extension, tying him to the club at least until the end of 2024.

Unfortunately, a knee injury cut his year short after Round 13, playing just 12 games.

Best AFL game:

Frost saved his best footy for Sydney in Round 6, picking up 21 possessions. He took eight marks, which included 4 intercept marks, along with eight rebound 50s. The Hawks eventually going down to the Swans in Launceston by 41 points.

How the coaches saw him:

“Frosty started the year strongly with some solid performances against some heavily targeted key forwards. He’s very consistent, reliable, and hard to beat one-on-one as a defender. We saw him play a variety of roles during the season including in defence, as a key forward and in the ruck which highlighted his versatility. Unfortunately, he only managed 12 games this season due to injury. He’ll be looking forward to having a big summer over the pre-season.” – Chris Newman
