Hawthorn teenager Jasmine Fleming has been recognised as the AFLW's Round 3 Rising Star nominee following her superb performance against Fremantle on Saturday afternoon.
The 18-year-old midfielder was instrumental in just her 11th game at the highest level, racking up 18 disposals at 83 per cent efficiency, along with four marks and four tackles.
Fleming's influence was felt right across the field, with six contested possessions and three score involvements.
In her two outings to date this year, Fleming continues to be a shining light for the brown and gold, averaging 14.7 disposals, 5.7 contested possessions and 4.7 tackles.
Hailing from the Ashburton Redbacks, the star midfielder was drafted by the Hawks with Pick 2 in 2022, before going on to play nine of a possible 10 games in her debut campaign.
This is Fleming's second Rising Star nomination in as many seasons, after being recognised in Hawthorn's Round 5 win over Sydney last year, and finishing third overall in the 2022 award.
Hawthorn General Manager of Football Operations Max Bailey said Fleming's nomination was well-deserved.
"Having Jas nominated for the Rising Star award not only once, but now twice, is a phenomenal achievement," Bailey said.
"We all knew how talented Jas was when she arrived at the club, but the really exciting thing is her mindset towards improving her game and growing as a leader so that she can bring others with her.
"She not only leads by example with the way she plays but she also leads the team as co vice-captain, highlighting the high level of respect she has from her teammates.
"We can't wait to see what the rest of the season, and the future, holds for her."
