Tegan Cunningham, Mackenzie Eardley and Akec Makur Chuot all face fitness tests ahead of Saturday afternoon’s clash with St Kilda at RSEA Park.
Speaking about Cunningham, Hawthorn AFLW High Performance Manager Olivia Knowles said she is making good progress in her recovery from a hamstring strain.
“She’s progressed really nicely so we’ll test her at training this week,” Knowles said.
Hawthorn’s defensive stocks could also receive a boost with Eardley due to exit the league’s concussion protocol prior to Saturday’s game.
“She’s about halfway through that concussion protocol now so she’ll do non-contact training and then progress to full contact training later in the week,” Knowles said.
In the midfield, winger Akec Makur Chuot continues to manage some knee soreness and will again be a test for Saturday’s contest.
“We decided to keep managing her and offload her a little bit more (last week),” Knowles said.
“We’ll continue to get her through training this week and expect her to be a test.”
While Sarah Perkins is still two to three weeks away from a return, she is heading in the right direction with her recovery from a calf injury.
“Perko has commenced her running and has started to do some change of direction,” Knowles said.
“She’s progressing along really nicely and where we expect her to be.”
