Hawthorn co vice-captain Emily Bates has been voted in as the Round 6 MVP following a stunning performance on Saturday afternoon against St Kilda at RSEA Park.

Despite the nine-point loss, Bates was one of the most influential players on the ground, recording a game-high 31 disposals at 81 per cent efficiency to go with a whopping 23 contested possessions.

The 27-year-old also achieved game-highs in clearances (10) and metres gained (343), alongside six intercept possessions.

This is Bates' third MVP nod of the season so far and her second in a row, highlighting her dominance in brown and gold.

Teammate Tilly Lucas-Rodd spoke glowingly of Bates' performance post-game on Saturday afternoon.

"Batesy's the ultimate professional," Lucas-Rodd said.

"She always comes out there and delivers the same performance.

"I guess it helps me and Flem (Jasmine Fleming) and all the other midfielders get around her and play to that same level."
